Help Fund Travel Scholarships for Our September Convening
In 2016, I shared my story with Mirror Memoirs - a national organizing project and audio archive uplifting Black, Indigenous and of color queer and trans child sexual abuse survivors.
Surviving child sexual abuse has shaped so much of my personal journey - and Mirror Memoirs has been a container in which I’ve been able to heal myself and resist and reshape rape culture with peers whose experiences mirror my own in so many ways.
I first attended a gathering of Mirror Memoirs survivor storytellers in August 2017, and gained a community of survivors who have become my friends and chosen family members over the past seven years. This September, we’ll convene our storytellers for the first time since 2019. Out of 85 storytellers, 40 have RSVP’d - but 20 have shared they can only attend with a travel scholarship.
$1,500 covers the full cost for one survivor to attend the convening in Los Angeles. Please help us ensure no one is left out due to lack of funds.
