I am a survivor of Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA). I know that many of us share this identity, but are not yet ready to identify publicly. In the past year, I have gotten to learn more about the spaces that Mirror Memoirs offers and serve on their membership committee. Their values are reflected in their programming and are deeply aligned with my own.
Funds raised from Summer-Fall 2024 will provide up to 30 travel scholarships for our low-income storytellers to convene in Los Angeles, where they will deepen relationship, gather into year-long peer support pods, and receive training on: how to address child sexual abuse as a social justice and public health issue, how to ask for and give crisis care peer support while staying boundaried and grounded, and how to navigate the security considerations that come with being a publicly "out" child sexual abuse survivor who is also a queer and/or transgender person of color.
I'm fundraising on their behalf to reach a goal of $500.00.
