A QTBIPOC Celebration of Life
Mirror Memoirs is hosting a Pride Picnic, open to ANY Black, Native or of color LGBTQI+ community member (survivors and loved ones of survivors alike) - in Long Beach, California!
Join us for a celebration of life and community on Sunday, June 15 (12-4pm) at El Dorado Park West. This is a kid-friendly event, but please RSVP for each child or teen in advance so we can plan appropriate activities (including childcare). Our event is free, and donations are welcome and encouraged to help us offset the costs.
We'll provide: free food (courtesy of local food trucks and vendors), healing services (ex: reiki, community acupuncture, tarot), games (hula hoops, corn hole, Uno, cards), music, and maybe even some face painting! KN95 masks are encouraged when not eating or drinking - we will have an ample supply available. This is an alcohol-free event.
You bring: picnic blankets or chairs, and any snacks/food that satisfy your dietary restrictions. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leash at all times (there is an off-leash dog park in a nearby section of El Dorado Park for your use). This park also includes: Baseball/Softball Field, Basketball Court, Community Center, Picnic Areas, Playground, Multi-use Courts, Roller Hockey Court, Skate Park, Soccer Fields, Restrooms, Tennis Court (we encourage you to bring any needed equipment for any of these facilities).
Transportation: Free parking is available at the park OR take the Metro A Line to Downtown Long Beach and transfer to the 102 Spring Line Bus heading to Norwalk Blvd (catch the bus at Willow & Long Beach Blvd SE, and disembark at Studebaker & Spring NE). Enter the park by turning on Barrios St, drive past the volleyball and basketball courts. We will be at Picnic Site B.
