Healing through Writing: A workshop for people living with trauma

Are you interested in learning about using writing as a tool for your healing? Are you interested in a surprisingly fun time?

This is a special opportunity for people living with trauma to learn about and practice therapeutic writing as a healing modality they can use in their everyday lives, while supporting Mirror Memoirs!

This workshop is not a space for disclosing trauma, nor will anyone be asked or expected to share any of their writing (phew!) This workshop is energetic, interactive and a surprisingly good time. (Don't worry, we hate triggers too!)

This workshop is normally only available on college campuses or at conferences, this is only the 2nd time it's available to the general public!

Attendees will:

  • Learn about how therapeutic writing can be a tool in their own healing
  • Develop a plan for how to incorporate the practice in their lives
  • Harness collective healing and wisdom by sharing best practices with one another

If you can't attend live: Don't worry! Every person who donates will receive a recording of the workshop to have available to them at their leisure!

Donations:100% of money raised will be donated to Mirror Memoirs, a national organization uplifting the stories, healing and leadership of BIPOC LGBTQI child sexual abuse survivors in movements to end rape culture.

Closed Captioning: Live closed captioning will be provided.

Presented by Mirror Memoirs Leadership Council Member Alisa Zipursky, Founder of HealingHonestly.com and author of "Healing Honestly: The Messy and Magnificent Path to Overcoming Self-Blame and Self-Shame" (Penguin RandomHouse, June 2023)

What past participants are saying:

“I would honestly recommend this workshop to anyone—I feel like by coming I’ve practiced self care and love. I didn’t realize how much I needed this.”

“I appreciated Alisa and her attitudes towards all of us. She made everything seem okay and valid and accepted. I did not once feel sad or upset, which I thought I might, but her presentation emphasized the healing and positivity. I feel at peace."
